Chosen by God: Finding Grace When You Feel Unworthy

Image
Figure 1: An image symbolizing God's love and grace Note: An image designed from the prompt -Create an image symbolizing God’s unconditional love and grace. It should depict a serene and uplifting scene where a person stands in a peaceful landscape, hands raised toward the sky, surrounded by soft light that represents God's divine presence. The background could feature soft clouds, rays of light breaking through, and a feeling of warmth and acceptance. The overall mood should evoke peace, grace, and a sense of being chosen and loved. “I love you, my child, and there is nothing you would ever do that would make me love you less.” These were God's words to me this morning. Stop me if you've heard this one before: You feel like you've missed the mark. Again. That familiar wave of shame crashes over you, making you question everything. You might even start hating yourself, feeling completely unworthy of being associated with God. I know, because I’ve been there. B...

It’s easy to fall into a cycle of frustration questioning your ability to manage it all, when the mental load of work, personal obligations, and spiritual commitments feel overwhelming. But then I remember the Proverbs 31 woman— a figure admired by many, but also seen as an impossible standard. She was described as a model of perfection and balance. But was she truly the perfect superwoman we all think she was? Or was there something about her that we’ve overlooked? One truth I’ve learned is that, like us, she didn’t do it all alone. And that’s where the wisdom lies.

Remember: The Call to Rescue

Image
Verse of the day. As followers of Christ, we are called to live out the Great Commission, sharing the gospel and rescuing those who are perishing, especially those who are unaware of God's immense love for them. Just as Proverbs 24:11 reminds us, we have a responsibility to step in and intervene for those who are spiritually lost. Many people around us are struggling in life, unaware of the grace, forgiveness, and eternal life that Jesus offers. The Great Commission is not just for pastors or missionaries—it's a call for all believers. Whether it's through sharing a kind word, offering prayer, or spreading the gospel in your everyday conversations, each one of us can help rescue those who are walking in darkness, leading them into the light of God’s love. This week, let's be intentional about reaching out to those in need of God's grace. Is there someone in your life who needs to hear about God’s love? Step out in faith and be part of their spiritual rescue. Kora...

Rethinking Faith: Unpacking the Truth Behind ‘God Helps Those Who Help Themselves'

Image
Figure 1: Humility and Faith Note: Image generated using Microsoft AI Designer from the prompt of a mountain or ladder analogy, where humility is the foundation that leads to the summit of strong faith. Introduction: The Struggle Between Faith and Self-Reliance Is self-reliance the path to spiritual strength, or does true faith require total dependence on God? This question has been central to my faith journey. While faith is often described as a journey, it is not a straightforward path. One of the   toughest challenges I’ve faced is learning to completely rely on God such that outside of God, I feel most vulnerable; but within Him, I feel safe, strong, sufficient and with purpose. To a rational realist, this level of dependence might seem like a weakness. After all, aren’t we supposed to cultivate our own strengths and treat God’s support as a bonus or supplement? Sayings like "Faith without works is dead," and "God helps those who help themselves" suggest tha...
