Remember: God’s Promises for September 2024
Dear Reader,
Welcome to September! Happy New Month! A new month always brings fresh beginnings, new opportunities, and unknown possibilities. But before you dive into your busy schedule, let’s pause for a moment. Have you taken time to discuss your September plans with Jesus? What if God has special instructions to help you navigate September’s challenges? Today’s message is part of our preparation for this new month. Jesus wants to remind us that He has already seen September ahead of us. As our God and guide, He brings a word that will help us navigate through it successfully.
Our Assurance
for September 2024.
This September, God, our ever-present
help, wants us to remember His promises. These timeless truths are not just for
ancient times; they are for us, today, as we navigate new beginnings,
challenges, and opportunities. As we reflect on Joshua 1:9, let’s explore what
it means to walk in strength, courage, and with God’s constant presence.
As
we face the unknowns of this month, God reminds us to be strong. However, our
strength should not come from ourselves. God’s strength is reliable, and we
need to draw from it. Whenever you feel depleted, take a moment to ask God for
strength. Start each morning by asking God for the strength you’ll need for the
day. That way, if the enemy tries to fill your mind with doubts and fears, you
can confidently say, "You're too late, devil. I already asked for
strength, and since it is God’s command and will for me to be strong, I have
received it."
Reflect: When was the last time you felt God’s strength in your
life?
2. Do Not Be Afraid- Facing Fear with God’s Assurance
Fear
is a common response to the uncertainties we face, but God repeatedly tells us
not to be afraid. This suggests we might face situations this month that could
bring fear. We must understand that fear is not merely a feeling; it’s a spirit
that does not come from God. It is something the enemy tries to plant in us to
make us feel powerless. But remember, you are made in the image of God, and God
has not given you the spirit of fear. Therefore, whenever you feel fear
creeping in, remember to return that spirit to its sender. It does not belong
to you.
Reflect: What fears are
you facing this month? How can you confront them knowing that fear is not from
God?
3. Do Not Be Weak - Understanding Weakness in a Spiritual Context
What kinds of soldiers go to war? Strong, well-prepared ones, right? Weak soldiers do not go to war. God understands that even the strongest believers can feel weak at times, but He calls us not to be or remain in a state of weakness. God values our reliance on Him because, in our weakness, His strength is made perfect.
Take Elijah, for example. After defeating the prophets of Baal, he was weak and fled to a mountain to be with God. There, he surrendered his weakness to God, and God restored him. This month, whenever you feel weak, lean into God. Surrender your weakness to Him and allow Him to strengthen you.
Reflect: How can you rely on God when you feel
weak? What practical steps can
you take to turn to God during those moments?
4.
Be Brave- The Role of Bravery in
Faith
Being brave doesn’t mean the absence of fear—it
means acting despite fear and facing
danger or adversity with courage. It means taking action despite the risks and
standing up for what is right, even in difficult situations. Bravery is about standing firm and taking steps
forward, trusting God’s presence and promises. Bravery involves
remembering that fear is not ours but the enemy's. It’s about moving forward,
showing strength, resilience, and determination. God is with us, so let’s be
brave in every situation we encounter this month.
Reflect: What is one area of your life where you
need to show more bravery? How
can trusting in God help you take that step?
5.
He is the LORD and He is Our God
The name "LORD" is significant. It’s the name God revealed to
Moses in the burning bush, often written as "Yahweh" or
"Jehovah," meaning "I am who I am." This name tells us that
God has always been there and always will be. He is eternal, unchanging, and
faithful. When we declare God as our Lord, we acknowledge His authority and
pledge our allegiance to Him. This month, let’s remember who God is—our
unchanging, faithful God who is with us.
6.
He Will Be with Us- Emmanuel
God’s
name, Emmanuel, means "God with us." This is a promise that we are
not alone. No matter what we face this month, God is with us in every situation,
guiding, protecting, and comforting. From the ordinary moments to the
challenging ones, His presence is our constant assurance. Remember the stories
of the Bible: God was with Joseph in the pit and prison, with Daniel in the
lion's den, and with the Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace. He will be with you,
too.
Reflect: How does knowing
that God is with you change the way you face your challenges? What are some
ways you can remind yourself of God’s presence daily?
7.
Everywhere We Go
Not only will God be with us in every situation, but He will be with us wherever we go. This has been true since the beginning of time. From Eden to the present day, God’s presence has always been with His people. Even in the book of Esther, where God’s name isn’t mentioned, His presence was evident. As you go about your daily activities this month, remember that God is with you in every place you find yourself. This also means being mindful of our actions—knowing that God is with us even when we are tempted to stray from His path.
Who Are These
Promises For?
These promises
are for those who have accepted Jesus as their God. This relationship is not an
accident; it’s an intentional choice. If you wish to enjoy these promises and
you haven’t yet committed your life to Jesus, there’s an invitation for you.
Become Part of
God’s Family
If you feel
the call to be a part of this, you can pray this simple prayer:
“Dear Jesus, I now announce to sin, hell, and the grave that I believe in You, in Your power, and the sacrifice You made for me at the cross of Calvary. I believe that You defeated sin, hell, satan, and the grave. I hand over my entire life to You and pledge my allegiance to You as my master, leader, and God. Please forgive me for the times I have sinned and accept me back into Your kingdom. From this moment onward, I am a bona fide child of God and will live as such by Your grace. In Jesus' name. Amen.”
Conclusion: A
Simple Formula for September 2024

- Be Strong and Brave.
- Do Not Be Afraid or Weak.
- Remember, God is with you wherever you go.
Let these truths guide you, and step boldly into September knowing you are not alone.
