In the midst of the vibrant colors and sounds of Lagos, the internal struggle to find the right career trajectory gnawed at me relentlessly. Yet, a gentle reminder echoed through my thoughts-
“Continue.”.
The Holy Spirit’s quiet insistence
cut through the noise of doubt, urging me to press on, to trust God in the
journey laid out before me. It was a moment of clarity amidst the chaos, a
beacon of reassurance amid uncertainty. I realized that moments of
doubt and questioning are not signs of weakness, but rather opportunities for
growth and reaffirmation and just as Jesus faced his own moment of uncertainty
in the Garden of Gethsemane, I too grappled with the weight of direction in my
life.

Jesus, in the garden of Gethsemane
These words uttered in a moment of anguish and turmoil, speak to the essence of perseverance in the face of
adversity. Jesus, fully aware of the challenges and suffering that lay ahead,
does not shrink from his divine purpose. Instead, he humbly submits to the will
of God, His Father, surrendering his own desires for the greater good.
This prayer is significant because it
not only acknowledges Jesus’s humanity and vulnerability but also His
unwavering commitment to God’s plan. Despite the overwhelming weight of His task, Jesus chose to continue on the path set before Him,
trusting in God’s purpose to guide His every step.
Jesus exemplifies the essence of
perseverance- the courage to endure hardship and uncertainty, the strength to
carry on in the face of adversity and the unwavering faith to trust in God’s plan,
even when it leads down a difficult and challenging road.

Deep down, I knew that taking the
easy way out would only lead to regret and missed opportunities. I couldn’t ignore
the sense of purpose that led me to pursue a career in law, nor could I deny
the passion that burned within me whenever I found solutions to a legal issue. Despite
the doubts that threatened to overwhelm me, I knew that I had to stay true to
myself and continue on the path that I had chosen, after all, it is in the face
of adversity that we discover our true strength.
As we navigate our journey of
purpose and faith, find inspiration and strength in Jesus’s example, knowing
that we too can persevere through the trials and tribulations of life, trusting
in God's guidance that lights our way.

Take a slow, deep breath, and remind yourself
of God’s promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9:
Continue- commit to continuing on the path that God has set before you, recalling the words of Jesus in Matthew 26:29-
